Family Activities
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin
Learning doesn't end in the classroom. You as a parent can be involved in your child's development of mathematical concepts. There are many games and activities you can play with your child to help build their fluency of multiplication problems.
Multiplication Game
Materials: 6 or 9 sided dice
Play in teams of two. The first player rolls the dice to determine the number in the tens place. The second person rolls the dice to determine the number in the ones place. You should now have a 2-digit number.
Roll the number dice again and record the numbers in the same way to create another 2-digit number. Players complete the multiplication number as quickly as they can.
Say "done" when the first player has completed. Check the answer, if correct, winner receives one point. The first to reach 3 points wins.
